The man was later identified as Jason Elola, 49, a father of nine and grandfather of four."
"The other driver, Davis, left the scene but called CHP's non-emergency line to report his involvement and was told by officers to return to the scene. Davis told an officer at the scene that Elola had cut him off, according to KGO-TV footage. After Elola exited the vehicle, Davis said they got into a physical altercation. "He raises his hands. As soon as he attacks me ... ring him up ... he hits the ground," Davis told the police, according to KGO-TV."

Elola was returning from San Francisco with his wife and two young daughters to celebrate his son Aiden's 18th birthday and stopped for ice cream when another driver, Martin Davis Jr., 37, allegedly rammed his truck into Elola's car. Davis left the scene, called CHP non-emergency, returned, and was taken into custody while detectives investigate.
