An initial DUI charge against 21-year-old truck driver Jashanpreet Singh was dropped after toxicology results were negative for drugs or alcohol. Singh now faces vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and reckless driving charges in connection to an eight-vehicle, fiery pileup on the 10 Freeway in Ontario that killed three people, including a Pomona High School basketball coach and his wife. Dash camera video shows Singh's semitruck plowing into several stopped vehicles. The defense calls the crash a tragic accident and sought bail, noting no record and no flight risk. The prosecution contends Singh saw slowing traffic and continued to drive, causing multiple deaths and severe injuries.
