Driver wounded in Oakand road rage shooting
"According to initial police reports, the man told officers he had been driving in the 6500 block of San Leandro Street when a silver Honda Odyssey minivan he had driven around cut in front of him. The man said he passed the van again and when the two vehicles got to the 4700 block of San Leandro Street the van pulled alongside him and the driver fired a shot that hit him in the leg."
"Police have not said if the man shot and the van driver ever exchanged any words. The van kept going before police got to the scene. A detailed description of the shooter has not been released. A 24-year-old Oakland resident was wounded in the leg during an apparent road-rage shooting Wednesday evening in East Oakland. The shooting occurred around 6:50 p.m. in the 4700 block of San Leandro Street. The injured man told officers he had been driving in the 6500 block when a silver Honda Odyssey minivan cut in front of him; he said he passed the van and, when the vehicles reached the 4700 block, the van pulled alongside and the driver fired. The van fled the scene before police arrived. The victim was treated and released from a hospital. Police have not released a detailed description. Investigators request tips and video evidence.
