President-elect Donald Trump announced the creation of a new Department of Government Efficiency, or 'DOGE', to be led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, aiming to streamline government functions.
Trump emphasized that Musk and Ramaswamy will radically transform federal agencies, stating, 'Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy and slash excess regulations.'
The initiative is being framed as a significant undertaking, potentially 'The Manhattan Project' of the current era, highlighting the ambitious nature of the planned reforms.
Musk expressed his optimism about the initiative, claiming DOGE would 'send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people!'
The administration's aim, according to Trump, is to create a 'smaller Government with more efficiency and less bureaucracy' in time for the 250th Anniversary of The Declaration of Independence.
