"Benjamin Esquivel-Madrid, 21, was charged with one count of murder and two counts related to alleged drunk driving in the Aug. 10, 2024 crash that killed 30-year-old Marcus Eduardo Amaral, court records show. The case was filed in late July, and Esquivel-Madrid was released from jail last Aug. 4, after posting $500,000 bail. Amaral was killed a little after midnight on the westbound lanes of Highway 24."
