"DUBLIN - A big rig crashed and overturned on an East Bay highway Thursday morning, prompting a shutdown of a major transition ramp, the California Highway Patrol said. The crash happened about 5:45 a.m. on northbound Interstate 680 where it transitions to eastbound Interstate 580, the agency said. The CHP said it was unknown how long the transition ramp would be closed and said motorists should expect significant delays."
"They issued an initial Sig Alert for severe traffic at 6:15 a.m. after closing the Hopyard Road exit. They updated that alert at 7:15 a.m. to indicate the transition ramp was closed. The CHP did not say immediately what caused the crash. The driver of the big rig got out of the truck on his own and was not injured. No other vehicles were involved. The truck had an oversized load, and the CHP said one of the challenges would be cleaning up debris."
