A crash occurred around 12:45 p.m. on southbound Interstate 280 near Magdalena Avenue in Los Altos Hills, causing a chemical spill and traffic snarls. No injuries were reported. All southbound lanes were initially blocked; by about 3:20 p.m. the No. 4 lane reopened and the Magdalena off-ramp served as an alternate route. The spill affected northbound traffic as well, with two lanes open by about 3:40 p.m. Santa Clara County Fire Department cleaned up the spill.
