"Cleaner air, quieter trains and extra space on board are just a few of the outstanding benefits these hydrogen-powered passenger trains bring to the people of California," Toks Omishakin, California's transportation secretary, stated. He emphasized how this initiative aligns with California's ambitious climate goals and aims to enhance rail service across the state, making significant strides towards reducing emissions and improving urban commuting experiences.
"What we have done with ZEMU is transformational," transportation authority President Ray Marquez said. He highlighted that the introduction of the ZEMU train positions the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority as a leader in clean passenger transport innovation and sets the stage for future sustainability in public transportation.
