California Museum's Statehood Celebration

California's 175th birthday is celebrated with a free public event at the California Museum offering rare historic artifacts and family-friendly programming. Both the English and Spanish versions of the original 1849 California Constitution are on display in partnership with the California State Archives. Exhibitions include a limited-time display of documents and artifacts highlighting select signers of the 1849 Constitution. Programming features a presentation by Professor Damien Bacich on Spanish-Mexican roots, live music by Los Californios and Renegade Orchestra, dance performances, and a PBS SoCal screening of Borderlands. Complimentary bear-themed cupcakes, hands-on crafts, reserved free tickets, and walk-in availability are included.
