The suspect was taken to a hospital, where he died, Anaheim Police Sgt. Matt Sutter said. The lockdown at John Marshall Elementary School was lifted, allowing parents to pick up their children, the department said."
"The area where the shooting occurred is residential and sits just north of La Palma Avenue. Officers later learned the man may have been holding a shovel. The first arriving officer encountered the man and fired multiple rounds at him, Sutter said. It was unclear what occurred to prompt the officer to fire.
