California and federal government set to increase water deliveries after storms
Briefly

Following recent rain and snow storms, California agencies are increasing water allocations to cities and farms due to improved reservoir levels. Southern California cities will receive 35% of their requested water from Northern California, up from 20%. Similarly, agricultural districts south of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta are set to receive double their previous year's allocation, at 35%. The announcement comes after an order from President Trump to maximize water supplies, particularly for southern Delta contracts, during this time of extreme weather.
California is experiencing a winter of extremes... We’ve seen predominately dry conditions broken up by very wet, short storm events. Those conditions mean we must move as much water when it’s available.
This allocation offers our farmers the opportunity to make critical planting decisions that optimize feeding the nation.
