Candidates for California governor are campaigning in the Bay Area as mail-in ballots are sent to registered voters. In San Mateo County, 95% to 96% of ballots are vote-by-mail. Voters can register to vote-by-mail until May 18 and in-person until June 2. Tracking ballots is possible through WhereIsMyBallot.com. Republican candidate Steve Hilton emphasized the need for change, stating that California can improve after Democratic leadership.
