Body of missing duck hunter who attempted to save his brother has been found in waterway

Authorities have recovered the body of 19-year-old Andruw Cornett in Thermalito Afterbay, more than two weeks after he went missing during a duck hunting incident.

Despite multiple warnings from dispatchers to stay in his kayak, Andruw Cornett jumped into the cold water in an attempt to save his younger brother, Wesley, who remains missing.

The search for Wesley Cornett has faced many difficulties, including dense vegetation and murky waters, leading authorities to search thousands of acres of the reservoir area.

Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene, but the challenging conditions—including 10-foot tall weeds and poor visibility—hampered rescue efforts significantly.
