Ricardo Gonzalez Ruiz, 34, was found not guilty of a misdemeanor assault charge after a six-day trial. A second misdemeanor count of exhibiting a deadly weapon was dismissed for insufficient evidence. The incident occurred at an anti-Trump protest outside the Berkeley Tesla dealership when Ruiz, a Trump supporter, displayed a stun gun while counter-protesting. Several protesters confronted him, and one, Susan Kegeles, pulled his hair after saying Ruiz grabbed her arm. Ruiz remains jailed on $250,000 bail pending a separate case in which he faces 11 felony counts. His public defender has sought a mental health diversion.
