Bay Area receives $14 million in state grants to combat youth homelessness
Briefly

The awards are part of the latest rounds of two statewide grant programs, to help homeless families with children and unhoused young adults find lasting homes. The grants are critical for connecting vulnerable Californians with housing services.
The money will support housing and services for young adults under 25, particularly those in or out of foster care or probation systems, along with adding transitional housing beds, job training programs, and financial aid for homeless families.
Local governments had to show a need for homeless housing support to receive grants. Over 37,000 people in the Bay Area experience homelessness, with Santa Clara County having the most significant homeless population.
