BART service interrupted between Hayward and Berryessa stations
"Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... An equipment problem early Friday interrupted BART service for commuters on one of the transit system's travel lines Friday, yet another day with a major interruption for the agency. BART spokesperson Chris Filippi said vandalism to the equipment caused BART to stop its service between its Hayward and Berryessa stations. He said BART still was working to determine what caused the issue."
"Both the Orange Line and Green Line serve riders traveling to San Jose. Orange Line trains were going as far as Hayward, while Green Line trains were stopping at Bayfair. Filippi said busses were available to take passengers to the seven stations between Hayward and Berryessa. The Transbay Tube remained open, and service across the San Francisco Bay still was operating."
An equipment problem early Friday interrupted BART service between Hayward and Berryessa after vandals damaged the equipment. Orange Line trains operated only as far as Hayward and Green Line trains terminated at Bayfair while buses served the seven affected stations. The Transbay Tube and service across San Francisco Bay remained open. BART was still investigating the cause of the damage. The agency has experienced multiple major disruptions since May, including system-wide shutdowns, line closures, an electrical outage, fires near tracks, and station shutdowns linked to computer and equipment issues and the rollout of the Tap and Ride system.
