At a house party in Rio Linda, a suspected shootout left at least two people injured, with injuries expected to be non-life-threatening. The incident occurred on the 6200 block of West 4th Street. Approximately 100 attendees, largely high school-aged, were present and fled the scene when shots were fired. Sgt. Amar Gandhi indicated the involvement of multiple shooters and stressed the importance of witness information for the investigation, due to limited surveillance in the rural area. The Sheriff's Office is seeking tips to identify the individuals responsible for the shooting.
At least two people were injured after a suspected shootout at a house party in Rio Linda Friday night, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
Sgt. Amar Gandhi, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said when deputies arrived, they found about 100 people scattered around the area.
The kids are doing what any rational person would do if they were somewhere where shots were fired. They were running, looking for refuge, looking for cover.
