Minutes later at 7:56 p.m. a 4.0-magnitude event was recorded about 3.1 miles from San Ramon. Subsequent tremors registered smaller magnitudes, with the latest noted at 8:10 p.m. registering 2.9 and an epicenter 2.7 miles from San Ramon. The sequence follows about 90 small earthquakes that affected San Ramon in November.
