A driver for the AC Transit bus system was hospitalized Monday after being attacked aboard a bus in an incident under investigation as possible domestic abuse. The attack occurred about 7:35 a.m. onboard a coach bus outside the Richmond BART station at 1700 Nevin Ave. The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office is investigating. Deputies took somebody into custody, but no other details were available immediately. The bus operator was transported by ambulance to a hospital and treated for superficial cuts. The investigation remains active and further updates are pending.
RICHMOND - A driver for the AC Transit bus system was hospitalized Monday after being attacked aboard a bus in a case that is being investigated as possible domestic abuse, officials for the transit agency said. The violence happened about 7:35 a.m. onboard a coach bus outside the Richmond BART station, according to a statement from AC Transit spokesperson Robert Lyles.
The BART station is located at 1700 Nevin Ave. The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office is investigating. Lyles said deputies took somebody into custody but no other details were available immediately. Lyles said the bus operator went by ambulance to a hospital for superficial cuts and was treated there.
