21-year-old woman hits 130 mph in Highway 101 police chase that ends in rollover crash, arrest
"A few minutes later, a Sonoma County sheriff's deputy saw the Dodge racing at about 130 mph near Airport Boulevard and followed it into Healdsburg before losing sight of it downtown, sheriff's Sgt. Juan Valencia said. About 15 minutes passed before deputies spotted it again and chased it onto southbound Highway 101. The driver identified as 21-year-old Adalynn Carrasco tried to exit at Hopper Lane but lost control."
"The Dodge hit a guardrail and rolled onto its roof, Valencia said. CHP officers arrived at the crash and said Carrasco showed signs of being under the influence. Carrasco was medically evaluated and then booked into the Sonoma County jail. Later Thursday, prosecutors filed one felony county connected to the sheriff's chase."
California Highway Patrol officers first saw a black Dodge Charger around 2:43 a.m. speeding north on Highway 101 near Steele Lane with its headlights off and traveling at more than 100 mph. Officers stopped pursuing because speeds were too dangerous. A Sonoma County sheriff's deputy later observed the Dodge racing at about 130 mph near Airport Boulevard, followed it into Healdsburg, and lost sight downtown. Deputies located the vehicle again, chased it onto southbound Highway 101, and the driver, 21-year-old Adalynn Carrasco, lost control at Hopper Lane, hit a guardrail, and rolled onto the roof. CHP reported signs of intoxication; Carrasco was medically evaluated, booked into Sonoma County jail, held on multiple DUI and felony-related charges, and faced $55,000 bail with a scheduled court appearance.
