Asha Sharma, currently president of CoreAI product, is taking over as CEO of Microsoft Gaming. Xbox president Sarah Bond is also leaving Microsoft, creating a major leadership shakeup for Xbox and Microsoft Gaming. Satya Nadella announced Spencer's retirement and thanked him for his leadership and partnership. Asha Sharma, currently president of CoreAI product, will take over as CEO of Microsoft Gaming. Sharma rejoined Microsoft in 2024 and has worked on Microsoft's AI platform efforts. Spencer will remain in an advisory role through the summer to support the transition. Sharma brings consumer and AI experience despite not being a longtime gamer.
