A former Saks personal shopper, Suhail Kwatra, faces criminal charges alleging fraudulent refunds, mismanaged promo cards, unpaid merchandise to clients, and corporate card abuse, with alleged losses near $429,400. Kwatra filed a Suffolk Superior Court lawsuit claiming Saks mounted a vindictive and unlawful campaign to destroy his reputation and to prevent him from taking clients and opportunities elsewhere after he considered a job with a competitor and declined a retention bonus without role assurances. Saks has not filed a response and did not comment. Kwatra is scheduled for arraignment on Jan. 30 and worked at Saks for more than two decades.
