Of 800 respondents to a new 1st Formations survey, 51% said they thought that the Tories are better for business (over Labour).
Graeme Donnelly, CEO of 1st Formations, highlighted that the Conservative Party's 51% support among small businesses is surprising, considering their historical alignment with businesses, and acknowledged Labour's increased standing since the Corbyn era.
Small businesses in the UK are vital, accounting for a significant portion of employment and turnover; however, they feel neglected and disadvantaged by government policies, especially regarding business and VAT rates, and Brexit's impact on talent recruitment.
66% of respondents believe that the UK government prioritizes the interests of big businesses over small and medium enterprises, showcasing a need for policy adjustments to support SME growth.
