More than one in three children in poverty as UK deprivation hits record high

The Social Metrics Commission report highlights that in the UK, over 16 million people live in poverty, marking the highest deprivation levels since records began in 2000.

According to the report, children represent the largest demographic affected by rising poverty rates, with over 5.2 million kids now considered to be living in deprivation.
