Logan Paul sold a rare Pikachu Illustrator Pokémon card for $16.5 million at Goldin Auctions after 41 days of bidding. He had purchased the card in 2021 for $5.275 million, added a diamond necklace and custom case, and wore it at WrestleMania 38 in 2022. Guinness World Records adjudicator Sarah Casson confirmed the sale as the highest auction price for any trading card. The winning bidder was venture capitalist A.J. Scaramucci, who received the card as Paul placed it around his neck. The card was designed by Atsuko Nishida for a 1998 contest and is one of only a few dozen believed to exist; Paul's copy is believed to be the only one with a quality rating of 10. The auction closing was livestreamed on YouTube.
