President Daniel Chapo launched a $40 million fund for small businesses at the 60th Maputo International Trade Fair in Maputo. The seven-day FACIM event hosts more than 3,000 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and expects tens of thousands of attendees. Provincial delegations, local entrepreneurs and international companies showcased agricultural produce and commercial goods across a dozen pavilions. Gaza province director Lucia Matimele highlighted available land, water and farmers but emphasized the need for investment. The government emphasized creating a favorable environment for foreign investors while promoting an inclusive, sustainable local economy that leverages Mozambique's ports, development corridors and natural resources.
