Expedia is eliminating some roles while opening new positions to align with the skills it expects to need going forward. The company is simplifying its structure and reducing organizational layers to move faster and increase accountability, and it expressed gratitude for impacted colleagues. The total number of people or the specific divisions affected was not disclosed. Several employees announced layoffs on LinkedIn, including a manager who said her role was impacted after a decade and expressed gratitude and optimism. Dozens of employees also promoted more than 250 current openings at Expedia. Other firms, such as Citi and T-Mobile, have made cuts in 2026 for similar restructuring reasons.
