Eddie Bauer LLC, an operating entity of Catalyst Brands, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in New Jersey, placing nearly 200 North American retail stores at risk of closure. The company intends to conduct liquidation sales at stores while pursuing a potential going-concern sale of all or part of its store operations; a sale could reverse a full wind-down. Retail and outlet locations will remain open initially as certain stores begin closing. Manufacturing and e-commerce operations will not be affected. The company cited declining sales, supply-chain challenges, inflation-driven costs, tariff uncertainty, and other factors. The filing lists more than 100,000 creditors.
