Thomas Pritzker, 75, is retiring effective immediately as executive chairman of Hyatt and will not seek reelection to the company's board at the 2026 annual meeting. He acknowledged maintaining contact with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell and said he exercised terrible judgment and deeply regrets the association. Pritzker said his responsibility was to provide good stewardship and that protecting Hyatt influenced his decision to step down. He said Hyatt is in a strong and sustainable position and that his departure will help ensure a proper leadership transition. Mark Hoplamazian, Hyatt's president and CEO, was appointed chairman effective immediately.
