At least one local business is closing in solidarity with Friday's 'economic blackout'
Briefly

Gather Here, a stitch lounge in Cambridge, is temporarily closing to support an economic blackout promoted by The People's Union USA. This grassroots movement seeks to raise awareness of economic issues, advocating for consumers to boycott unnecessary purchases. Owner Virginia Johnson emphasizes the importance of local business support and aims to challenge credit card fees by halting card payments. Other local businesses are joining the initiative, highlighting the community's collective action against corporate practices and high living costs.
