Billionaire Julia Koch and her children agreed to purchase a 15 percent stake in BSE Global, which owns the Nets, Liberty, and Barclays Center, for an enterprise valuation of $6 billion.
Joe Tsai and Clara Wu Tsai are selling the stake to the Koch family, but will still maintain full control of the teams, with the NBA's approval pending until June 24.
The Nets rank as the 13th-most valuable NBA franchise at $3.98 billion, while the Liberty is the third-most valuable WNBA franchise at $130 million.
The Barclays Center was recognized as the highest-grossing arena globally in April, displaying the continued success of the teams' home venue.
