The Nets announced Wednesday that Carter's No. 15 will be raised to the rafters at Barclays Center next season, making him the seventh player in franchise history to have his number retired.
Carter spent five seasons in New Jersey, averaging 23.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, making three All-Star teams, and setting the franchise record for most points in a season.
Carter expressed gratitude for his time with the Nets, highlighting the opportunity to be a go-to-guy and play alongside Jason Kidd, who made the game easy for him.
In addition to having his jersey retired, Carter will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Aug. 17, marking the end of his remarkable 22-season NBA career.
