Nets reportedly 'open for business' in trade talks
Briefly

"The trade deadline is still nearly three months away, but there is plenty of chatter about Brooklyn being the place to go for contending teams looking for upgrades when that crucial time of roster-building finally arrives. League sources say the rebuilding Nets are expected to be open for business, even with this competitive start (5-9; 20th in net rating) in which first-year coach Jordi Fernandez has made good use of the available talent."
"L.A. was also rumored to be considering a deal trading for Finney-Smith in an attempt to get a starter-level player instead of drafting at No. 17 in the 2023 Draft. That, obviously, didn't happen and the Lakers kept their first round pick."
"With Los Angeles expressing a desire for a backup center, Nic Claxton is a Brooklyn player who could fit that need. He's started in the last five games he's played for Brooklyn, averaging 8.6 points and 7.7 rebounds for the Nets."
