Nets' poor defense undercuts Cam Thomas' strong return in loss to Hornets

Thomas had 31 points in his first game since suffering a right ankle/mid-foot sprain. Yet it couldn't save the Nets (25-39) as three of their last four losses since Monday have been to teams out of the playoff or play-in picture.
The Nets gave up 56 paint points and 26 fast break points while allowing the Hornets, the fourth worst shooting team in the league, to shoot 54.3%. But this week might as well have sounded the alarm that the season is in danger.
