A 30-year-old woman suffered a serious leg wound after being struck by a stray bullet outside Albee Square in downtown Brooklyn near Fulton Street around 2:13 p.m. The shooter, who appeared to recognize and target someone else, opened fire in the busy shopping area during afternoon hours. An eyewitness vendor described the shooter shouting at an intended target before firing once and fleeing down Fulton Street. The victim, identified as an innocent bystander, was transported to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Brooklyn Methodist in stable condition. Police recovered a single bullet casing at the scene. No arrests have been made as the investigation continues. The area, located in the 84th Precinct, had experienced zero shootings in 2025 prior to this incident.
