Where to go for a girl's night out in Richmond: The Brooklyn
"Stepping inside makes you forget you're in Scott's Addition at all. The energy felt like one of a much bigger city, but without the snobbiness. And I could stare at that gorgeous wood-fired oven for years."
"They're mocktails but you could barely tell because of how good they were. We love when places take their mocktails seriously. One friend got the Easterday bbq mushroom with green curry and cilantro ($18) -which is a pile of delicious, local mushrooms."
"The Vietnamese iced coffee affogato, which includes the server pouring a coffee shot over a scoop of gelato ($12). I'd return just for that dessert."
The Brooklyn opened in late November in Scott's Addition, bringing a sophisticated cocktail bar experience with a big-city atmosphere minus the pretension. The venue features a wood-fired oven and offers an impressive menu including elevated mocktails like the Amaro Falso and Phony Negroni, wood-fired dishes such as BBQ mushrooms with green curry, and crispy lamb skewers with Szechuan and tahini yogurt. The standout dessert is a Vietnamese iced coffee affogato where servers pour espresso over gelato. The restaurant operates Wednesday-Sunday from 5-10pm at 1616 Summit Ave and accepts reservations for later seatings.
