"[The parade] is a celebration of life, celebrating where you came from, and you know, putting on the show for everybody," said Heavyn, reflecting the sentiment of the event.
"The West Indian Day Parade means everything to me as it salutes the culture, music, and food of all Caribbean islands," stated Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, underscoring its significance.
