The incident occurred around 2:05 a.m. at McDonald Avenue and Colin Lane in Brooklyn. Video showed seven men changing clothes and leaving the area after coming out of a sewer manhole. Police were called, but the men were gone when officers arrived, and investigators are seeking them. Entering the sewer system is illegal and could lead to burglary charges if caught. A NYC Department of Environmental Protection spokesperson said sewer infrastructure inspections are underway to ensure no damage occurred, citing hazards such as deadly gases, unstable surfaces, flooding risks, and confined spaces. A similar April 2025 incident led to three people being taken into custody and charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
