Brooklyn detectives investigated two deadly stabbings within nine hours between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The first homicide occurred around 8:10 p.m. on May 27 near Seaview Avenue and Rockaway Parkway in Canarsie. Officers from the 69th Precinct responded to a 911 call about an assault and found Isaiah Freeman, 34, with a stab wound to his chest. He was taken to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital in critical condition and later died. Police said Freeman was attacked after becoming involved in a verbal dispute, though the reason was unknown. No arrests were made. Hours later, a man was fatally stabbed and another seriously injured in Sunset Park near City Fresh Market at 5009 6th Ave. around 4:55 a.m. on May 28. The 35-year-old victim was pronounced dead at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, and the 36-year-old victim had a slashed face.
