The community just went nuts for this kind of interaction between this community and the classical form. We added more and more dances, more and more scenes, more costumes. It just kept growing and growing.
Brooklyn's 'The Nutcracker' retains many hallmarks of Balanchine's ballet but is set in modern Brooklyn, woven through with local culture and traditions.
