A man unlawfully commandeered an MTA bus at a Brooklyn depot with its driver still inside, ending his joyride about a block away when he crashed. The incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. at Ulmer Park Bus Depot, where the 32-year-old intruder was able to sneak onto the bus before the driver began his route. After driving a short distance, he collided with a parked car. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and police apprehended the suspect shortly thereafter, with charges still pending.
A scofflaw hopped behind the wheel of an MTA bus at a Brooklyn depot Monday and sped off with its stunned driver on board - making it about a block before crashing.
The intruder...was undeterred when the driver then entered the bus to begin his route, sources said.
The suspect was somehow able to drive off the lot with the operator on board - making it down the block to 25th and Cropsey avenues, where he crashed into a parked car.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
