Connecticut authorities are investigating NYPD detective Rohail Khalid regarding a 2005 homicide of a Brooklyn livery driver, whose body was discovered in Connecticut. Khalid, a detective promoted in 2017, has been placed on modified duty while the investigation continues. He is named in an arrest warrant concerning the alleged perpetrator, Mohammed Ali, charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Khalid denies any wrongdoing, claiming he was cleared by the NYPD nearly two decades ago after providing an alibi.
At the time of the incident, Khalid provided investigators with an alibi and has adamantly denied any involvement.
Det. Rohail Khalid was cleared by the NYPD in this investigation some 20 years ago, when he appeared voluntarily to assist.
