Two brothers from Astoria, Andrew and Angelo Hatziagelis, pled guilty to multiple weapons charges after authorities uncovered a dangerous cache of improvised explosive devices, ghost guns, and 3D-printed firearms in their apartment during a search authorized by the court. Andrew is expected to receive a 10-year prison sentence while Angelo faces four years. The investigation began in September 2020, triggered by suspicious firearm part purchases, which led to a collaborative effort among various law enforcement agencies to prevent potential harm as indicated by the findings of a hit list and operational IEDs.

These defendants possessed untraceable weapons and improvised bombs capable of causing untold harm.
The investigation began in September 2020 when analysts flagged suspicious purchases of firearm parts.
The search also uncovered 3D printers, anarchist propaganda, radios tuned to police frequencies, high-capacity magazines, and notebooks with bomb-making instructions.
