Purelink: Faith
Briefly

Purelink, composed of three former Chicagoans, innovates within the Y2K-era clicks + cuts tradition, steering away from their predecessors' dispassionate demeanors. Their second album, Faith, embodies a communal approach to ambient music, characterized by bright timbres and collaborative spirit, rather than the solitary nature of typical laptop producers. With contributions from Loraine James and poet Angelina Nonaj, the album combines energetic motifs that invite listener engagement over introspective dissonance. Their youthful exuberance reflects a modern interpretation of ambient sounds, making their music approachable and vibrant.
Purelink, are three 30-year-olds with impeccable music taste and even better networking skills, driving south every year to link up with artists like Ulla and Huerco S. at Kansas City's C-parties.
They prefer bright timbres and billowing chords rather than the spaciousness their forebears inherited from dub, cocooning the stereo field in midrange pad noise.
