Popular Brooklyn Restaurant Closing on June 15
Briefly

Gertie, a cherished Brooklyn eatery known for its Jew-ish comfort food, will close on June 15 after six years. The restaurant has been a community hub, sharing memorable moments and providing support during COVID by turning into a community kitchen, delivering over 50,000 meals. While Gertie is closing its current location, the owners suggest that this is not the end, announcing plans for a future concept, Gertie 2.0, indicating ongoing ties to the community and a commitment to return.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce GERTIE's time in Williamsburg is coming to an end - our last day of service will be Sunday, June 15.
Being able to share our space with you all over these past six years has been an honor. We are humbled and so grateful for what you've helped us create.
This is a season finale, not a series finale. We're scouting new spots closer to our sister restaurant @gertrudesnyc so STAY TUNED for future GERTIE 2.0 announcements.
During COVID, Gertie transformed into a non-profit community kitchen, bringing over 50,000 meals to underserved communities across New York City.
