On Tuesday, a police incident in Canarsie resulted in the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old driver who allegedly attempted to evade a traffic stop. The NYPD Community Response Team initially spotted the driver in a stolen Porsche and confirmed the vehicle's status through a quick check. After the driver attempted to flee and nearly struck a lieutenant during a police blockade, the officer shot the driver through the windshield. The driver was later pronounced dead, while a passenger was apprehended and the lieutenant underwent medical evaluation.
