The incident occurred late Friday night when Lin approached a 63-year-old man, brandished a knife, and demanded money. Following the attack, Lin stole cash and fled the scene, leaving the victim injured. Fortunately, the victim has since been hospitalized and is expected to recover. Lin faces multiple charges, including robbery and assault, as the police continue their investigation.
Authorities say it happened on 8th Avenue and 57th Street. They say Chai Lin, 28, approached a 63-year-old man around 10 p.m., pulled out a knife and demanded money.
Lin fled the scene with cash after slashing the victim, according to authorities.
The victim was hospitalized and is expected to survive.
The charged against Lin include robbery, assault and several other offenses.
