NYPD Deploys Police on Subways in Fight Against Overnight Crime
Briefly

Starting Monday, the NYPD will deploy two police officers on every overnight subway train, part of a $77 million initiative announced by Governor Hochul.
Governor Hochul noted that the goal of the enhanced presence of law enforcement is to improve public safety across the city's mass transit system for the next six months.
Hochul emphasized the significance of the increase, stating, "We've doubled the number of law enforcement personnel in the New York City subway system in one year."
The strategy includes a total of 750 additional officers on platforms and in stations, along with 300 assigned specifically to overnight trains.
