These zones will support delivery companies in transitioning to greener transport methods, allowing for safe, sustainable deliveries via e-cargo bikes and smaller vehicles.
DOT Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez stated that as deliveries rise, these microhub zones will enhance safety and reduce congestion caused by large trucks on city streets.
The pilot program will host exclusive use permits for operators, ensuring they maintain the hub cleanliness while prominently displaying their company branding on delivery vehicles.
