The 9/11 Memorial & Museum in Lower Manhattan will receive $500,000 for its important educational programs that recount the events and stories from September 11, 2001.
Governor Kathy Hochul announced the funding during a memorial event, highlighting the Museum's mission to document the history of the 2001 and 1993 attacks.
In its first year, from 2014 to 2015, the 9/11 Memorial Museum welcomed 2.7 million visitors, emphasizing its significance to the public.
Fifteen state landmarks, including One World Trade Center, will be illuminated in blue, honoring the memory of those lost during the September 11 attacks.
